| History The house was built in 1910. No other historical information about the home is available.
The
activity has been following the family dating back to 2000. Also,
one of the daughters was experiencing hardship at age 7 when she saw
her grandfather appear and sat on the side of her bed and claimed
everything would be alright. The home owners think whatever it is
causing the activity is something protective of their daughter.
This case is the same family of the Linton, Indiana case (case 32).
Reports The claims of activity include:
hearing footsteps going up/down the steps; while several family
members were sitting in the living room, car keys that were lying on
the dining room table came flying into the living room, hitting the
fireplace and landing on the floor in front of the fireplace. A
family member picked them up and placed them on the couch. Soon
after, the keys were next seen on the dining room table again;
the smell of urine and dirt; kitchen cabinets opening and
shutting; a refrigerator magnet was seen flying off the refrigerator;
members hearing the sound of footsteps upstairs
and the closet door open while downstairs in the living room.
EquipmentSeven Olympus digital voice
recorders, digital and K2 EMF meters, thermometer, four IR video
cameras, 2-way radios and digital still cameras.

HPR arrived at the home around
9:30 pm. After a tour of the home, Shanon interviewed the home
owners while the other team members met outside to discuss the location
of the cameras. Team members present for this investigation were:
Robert, Greg, Kenny, Shanon and new members Tony and Shari. Four
infrared video cameras were placed in the kitchen, living room, dining
room and upstairs in the daughter's bedroom. Four digital voice
recorders were placed in front of each IR camera and the
remaining three were held during the investigation. We split into
two teams. Team 1 consisted of Robert, Kenny and Tony. Team 2 was Greg,
Shanon and Shari. Team 1 began their investigation in the dining room.
Investigation Time
Line10:55 pm- The IR cameras were started.
11:00 pm- The digital voice recorders started recording. 11:03 pm- Kenny had just made a radio check and while trying to reconnect his radio to his pocket, a whisper was recorded on several voice recorders including the documentary video camera. It was clearest on the documentary voice recorder, however, it was loudest on the voice recorder Robert was carrying. It was not determined what was said. 11:05 pm- Investigation started in the dining room with Robert conducting an EVP session. 11:09 pm- Turned on the K2 meter and turned off cell phones. 11:12 pm- Kenny offered the entity the opportunity to touch him. 11:15 pm- Decided to go upstairs and investigate the daughter's bedroom where footsteps were heard. 11:18 pm- Kenny and Robert investigated the closet door upstairs. The closet door was very tight in its frame. Very hard to close and open. 11:20 pm- EVP session began in the bedroom. We sat on the bed and asked questions for several minutes. 11:23 pm- Kenny went down stairs to the living room to see how well he could hear Robert moving around in the bedroom. And to see how loud the closet door was when opened. Both were heard clearly. 11:39 pm- We moved to the kitchen to finish out our first session in the house. 11:45 pm- Team 1 finished their first session and exited the house. 11:47 pm- Team 2 began their first session in the downstairs bedroom with Shari conducting an EVP session. They spent about 10 minutes in the bedroom before moving to the dining room. 12:09 am- Shari claimed something touched her hair. Nothing obvious was recorded on video. Shanon and Shari sat at the dining room table for several minutes asking questions. 12:15 am- They moved to the an upstairs bedroom and continued the EVP session. Shanon asked if they could move a doll that was sitting in a chair located in the bedroom. 12:24 am- They moved to the master bedroom to investigate a sound. It turned out to be a clock in the bedroom. 12:29 am- Their session ended and they exited the house. 12:30 am- Team 1 entered the house with one of the daughters to help with the investigation. They began their second session in the upstairs bedroom where the closet door was heard opening. They asked questions and listened. The documentary video camera's battery ran out and they had to go AC. 12:50 am- Robert suggested going down to the living room. The daughter exited the home. At 1:00 am- They decided to get the K2 meter and place it on the coffee table. Robert tried to get a response on the meter but it remained quiet. 1:15 am- Team 1 exited the home. Team 2 entered the home to finish out their second and final session of the night. The investigation at this point is 2 hours, 15 minutes into the investigation and little personal experiences are recorded. They started in the living room. Again, Shari and Shanon asked questions and Greg operated the documentary camera. 1:29 am- Shanon noticed the smell of freshly made toast while sitting in the chair in the living room. The smell only lasted for a minute. There was nothing found in the room that could have made the smell. 1:35 am- They moved to the kitchen to investigate the magnets. Nothing out-of-the-ordinary was recorded. 1:44 am- They moved to the upstairs master bedroom and sat quietly for about 10 minutes when they decided to leave the house and allow the equipment to record for the remainder of the investigation. 2:04 am- Investigation was called and all members entered the home and turned off all equipment. Findings The only thing HPR was able to find that can't be explained were some faint whispers
at 3 minutes, 54 seconds after the voice recorders started. Kenny was
trying to clip his 2-way radio to his pocket. The radio clip was tight
and he was having trouble clipping it. The whispers occurred just after
the first snap of the clip or about 1.5 seconds into the audio
file. Since they were not loud enough in the camera's mic, we
determined it could not have been Tony who was operating the
documentary video camera. Kenny was in camera but was already talking
and the whispers were not as loud on his voice recorder. Although it
was loudest on Robert's recorder, he was facing the camera and
his mouth was not moving. It could not be determined where the whispers
originated. Infrared video cameras only captured the occasional
bug or dust flying around the rooms. The only personal experience was
from Shari when she felt something touch her hair in the dining room
during team 2's first session at 12:09 am.
With the lack of any strong evidence captured on this night, HPR was unable to verify a haunting or paranormal activity at this time. More research is needed. |
