Soon after I moved in with my
boyfriend about two years ago, I began to feel like a real
klutz. Everything around me would fall off the walls and
break. So, for the first week or so, I had to explain to him why a
favorite decor item was now in the trash or not repairable.
One night the microwave even caught on fire and was completely
destroyed. Of course, I thought this one would be the end of our
relationship!
One night when we were sitting watching
television we heard a thump in the kitchen. When we went in to
investigate, we noticed that one of the votive glass had fallen out of
the sconce on the wall. He replaced it and we went back into the t.v.
room; within the hour, we heard the noise again. This time it
had fallen, but had rolled under the table and was chipped. I
jokingly said that the house was haunted.
A few nights later, when he was at work,
I was in the t.v. room and I heard a loud noise in the living area
behind me. Another (different) votive have fell out of a sconce. I put
it back and noticed that it was a little loose, so I took some masking
tape and wrapped it around the base to make it fit tighter. Not
satisfied with that I placed a little hot glue in the bottom. It was in
tight enough that I could not pull it out easily.
That weekend we were having dinner in
the t.v. room and heard a shatter, but no thump. The same votive I had
wrapped and glued was half way across the room and in a million pieces.
It had landed on carpeting and the pieces of glass were strung out from
one side of the room to the other (this formal living room is fairly
large). We spent days picking up glass pieces.
About 4 months ago, my
boyfriend was up watching television and I had went to bed about a hour
before. He came into the bedroom and asked what I had wanted. Being
that he had just woke me up I was confused by his comment. He said that
he felt me lay my hand on his shoulder and say his name. When he turned
to look up I was not there. He has said that he has heard me
speak to him many nights and assumed that I was dreaming. But this
night the voice was right by his ear.
We haven't had any experiences since
than and I do not feel uncomfortable in the house. Our home is only
about 5 or 6 years old and the property used to be a farm and the old
farm house was torn down when several other homes were built on
it. IF I am not mistaken I believe my boyfriend said the
elderly couple died in their old age...
The only other thing that we notice is
that we have the world's biggest scared- e-cat! Literally, she is
afraid of the littlest noise and runs frantically through the house and
stares at corners where nothing is. She acts as though she is
constantly being tormented and crouches in fear at the littlest of
noises.
